The main responsibilities are:
1. To implement and enforce the state guidelines and laws on judicial administration work; to study and make the policies and regulations on judicial administration work; to make the medium-to long-term plans.
2. To direct and supervise the work of the jail administration;
3. To direct and supervise the work of reform through labor;
4. To assist relevant agencies to direct the work of replacement and helping and educating people who are released from criminal penalty and reform through labor.
5. To formulate the plans on the propaganda of legal system and the popularization of legal knowledge， and organize the implementation;
6. To direct and administrate the work of lawyers and the counselor enterprises; to administrate social legal service agencies;
7. To direct and supervise the notarization agencies and notarial affairs activities; to examine the notary affairs related to the foreign countries and Hong Kong， Macao and Taiwan.
8. To direct the work of its inferior agents and deal with the disputes among people and be responsible of the ground level legal service; to take part in the public security management;
9. To inspect the city’s judicial system and the prisons in Jining City;
10. To direct the city’s arbitration work;
11. To direct and administer the judicial identification public service;
12. To study and make the standard documents; to make the plan of law education and implement it; to direct the law theory research;
13. To be responsible of the foreign affairs and affairs relating Hong Kong， Macao， and Taiwan in the judicial system;
14. To direct and administer the equipment of the city’s judicial system; to supervise preserving and increasing the value of the state assets;
15. To direct and administrate the workers of the city’s judicial system; to assist the counties in managing the cadres in the judicial system;
16. To organize the implementation of the city’s judicial exams;
17. To handle other work assigned by the municipal government and party committee;
