The International Confucian Culture Festival， held in Qufu ， is one of the 14 tourism festivals of China sponsored by the State Tourism Administration of China. Diplomatic envoys to China are invited to attend the Festival during this time. Meanwhile， activities concerning scientific， economic， and trading cooperation， such as the China Patented High-tech Products Fair and the World Chinese Merchants’ Forum， are held during the festival. Tourism services， such as Study Tourism of the Hometown of Confucius， Seeking Root and Worship Tourism， and Acknowledging Teacher Tourism at the Confucian Temple， are offered. Representatives from all walks of life in Qufu， including students， descendants of Confucius， foreign guests， and overseas Chinese compatriots， come to pay their respects to Confucius in turn. Theatrical performances and various arts performances are held to entertain the visitors as well.
